Black Friday Deals {Dothan Alabama Newborn Photographer Dothan Alabama Baby Photographer Mongomery Wetumka Prattville Baby Photographer }

The time is approaching where Black Friday steals are awaiting!  This year I'm doing things differently.  I am running my BF deals until Cyber Monday!

I'm not able to offer my killer 50% off everything this year because of my husbands job loss.  Beginning now, I am 100% responsible for our mortgage, and so this business is my livelihood, and I just can't run it this year!  I am so sorry, I know many of you look forward to this time of year!  But I am already the cheapest PRO photographer in the Wiregrass!

If booking a session, they aren't listed, but take $20 on regular sessions off, and $30 off of newborn session fees.  I am BOOKED on every weekend until 2014.  I will release my 2014 schedule this coming week, but are gearing up in a bit to leave and find us a new home for our new job!

I'm going to be switching a few things up with my purchase minimum is now a print minimum.  Reason being, I work super hard to create beautiful images, and while some may print from my recommended labs, some don't, and I hate seeing my work butchered by local printers ie: Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, and ect.  There is a huge difference in the printers they use, and I do have work in my studio for comparison if you ever want to see it!  On top of that, I feel digitals just sit around and collect dust.  I am so embarrassed to admit this, but I haven't even printed off any of Ella Kate's newborn portraits that Dewdrops Photography by Amy McDaniel did in Auburn, but will do it when I get back, so that's another reason!

Elf On The Shelf Minis!  Few slots left!!  Book today, no extra slots will arise!

GIVE ABOUT TWO WEEKS FOR ALL ITEMS TO SHIP TO YOU OR TO ME.  THIS TIME IS BUSY FOR BOTH MYSELF AND MY PRINTING LABS I USE!!  CAN'T GUARANTEE ANY ITEMS ORDERED PAST DECEMBER 15TH TO ARRIVE IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS!!

Charlotte King Photography is completely turning into Bellies To Toddlers and is moving to Prattville, Alabama!!

It has been a long time coming, and praying, but things have came to simply this.  My husband is an employee of AFS, and a few weeks ago they announced they were going to lay off 250-300 employees.  We, being low in seniority will be making the cut list, however we are waiting until Friday.  Friday they are suppose to give out pink slips, but we are 90% sure.

So, he found an amazing job, taking a big pay cut, but something that offers us a reliable job (no lay off threats in other words lol), and a day job.  Currently he works on third shift, and it is killing me!

So our job will take us to Prattville!  I will be marketing weekday openings to the Wetumpka, Prattville, Montgomery and Millbrooke area!  So if you are from there, can you help a girl out?!?!  I would truly appreciate it!  Kind of exciting and scary all at the same time!!

So I know what your thinking.  What about me, I've paid and pre booked!  Well, I will be working down here in Dothan beginning in January every other weekend.  Every other weekend, we will be driving down here for me to work on Saturdays, and so my kiddos can visit with grandparents!  Which, will work out best for some of my clients since everyone wants Saturdays!!  I will be laying out my whole calendar for next year and will have it laid out!

My website I was going to work on a while back, I never had a chance, but I do now so I'm going to hit it hard next couple of weeks.

We are so excited, and nervous, but we have prayed and believe God is sending us to where we are meant to be!

If you have any questions or concerns please message me!  I am so excited to be able to relocate and have a job, while still being able to capture memories for all my sweet clients!!

Happy Veteran's Day {Charlotte King Photography Dothan, AL Newborn Baby Child Family Photographer}

Today is no ordinary day, it is a day to stand up, and say Thank You.  Thank you to all of our men and women in arms that have served overseas.  While all Military needs a thank you from time to time, today is a day to honor those who have served in a War.  That is what the true meaning of a "vet" is.

I've served 8 years in the military, and my first and only deployment was in 2008-2009 in Iraq.  I was stationed on two different bases, and had a life changing experience.  When you see the poverty over there it really puts you in check to be truly thankful for all that you have.  I remember being escorted to a different base, and looking up and seeing the children standing on the side of the road, clothes were rags, they looked like they haven't took a bath in clean water in months.  The only water they really had was mud puddles it seemed, and they just looked at you when you passed by.  Sometimes we would catch them yelling for us "Americans".  See previous to my deployment, we use to throw things for them out of the convoy, like water, candy, ect, but now you can't.

I look back and glance at those commercials in my head.  You know the "poverty" ones.  I use to think those were so fake, that someone was making the kids look like that, but in all actuality, poverty is covering our world.  I believe us being in Iraq was helping a bit, I will not get all "political" today though!

I believe everything that I have experienced in my life has led me to where I am.  I was this poor kid from the wrong side of town, joined the Army in high school, graduated, and was deployed a few months later.  That's every 18 year olds wish right?  I graduated high school, went to AIT, and came back to "We will be deploying next year, lets get ready."  That was the beginning of my story.  I had a good experience being deployed, some laughable memories, some sad teary memories.  Working the flight line was a plus as well, when superstars would come, and preform we were the first to see them, so  that was pretty awesome!  I've made friendships, heartbreaks, and a new view on the world!

We don't know how that soldier ended up where he/she is, but we can thank them today!  Hug your soldier!  You  may not even know a vet is walking among you today, but we are everywhere!  Here is a few images from my deployment!  I traded my boots in for my mom jeans, and wont ever look back!

Ella Kate {Birth Story} Charlotte King Photography, Dothan Alabama Newborn Photographer

Ella Kate was a planned induction for September 23rd.  My body had been preparing on it's own, I had lost my mucus plug, dilated 3 1/2 cm and effaced 80% when I went in that Monday morning at 5:00!  {Whew SUPER early!!!}  Our other kiddos stayed with their Nonna (my MIL), and the grandparents were rotating days for our hospital stay!

They started me on the Pitocin at 6:00 that morning.  My birth plan included NO epidural, and I had my husband, essential oils, and Christian music going to help sooth contractions!  At 7:00 or a little after, I experienced the worst pain in my life other than contractions, Dr. Gilchrist came in and broke my water!  Thought I was about to DIE!!  Contractions started coming, and going, getting stronger, every time I would get use to one set of contractions, a new set of stronger ones would come in!  I was blessed with an amazing nurse!  She was there for my first, second, and third child!  How amazing is that!  I simply LOVE Flower's Hospital!!!

I had my ear plugs in, concentrating on the lyrics through Christ I can do this!!  I was setting the mood, getting my faith on, and hubby was snoring in the chair.  Every time I would get use to a set of contractions the nurse would come and up it 2 more, they kept getting closer, and stronger.  I started breathing, turning, then the internal monitor fell out, and I had to lay in one stinking position. The pain continuously got stronger.  I started breathing harder, grabbing onto the bed.  Steven finally got up and started rubbing my back and helping me breathe.   My last resort was breathing in my lavender essential oils.  I have to say, it did help a lot, and wish I had stuck to it.  I started crying, then I couldn't concentrate on my breath, this was so hard, and it hurt so bad.  I just wanted some relief.  I had an urge to push, told the nurse, she checked me, and I was only at 5 cm.  This was disappointing, because it was 11:45, and I hurt so bad.

I finally couldn't catch my breath in between contractions, and I opted for the Epidural.  Got that in, and then seemed like I progressed more!  At 12:30 I was up to 7 1/2 cm dilated, and then at 3:50, it was time to push!  I gave a few hard pushes, and Ella slid out, then they had me "hold" so Dr. G could come in, and she sucked back on in!  Then he got there, she was sliding back out, and they told me to hold her not to push, so I didn't and she just came on out on her own!  My husband said, "Charlotte, you got your red head!"  Gosh, that made me so happy!!  I joke and tell people now, "It only took me three times to get one that looks like me"!  Ella Kate King was born into this world at 4:06 pm.  She was 6 lbs 14 oz and 19 1/2 long, perfectly pink and fuzzy hair!  The loudest cry ever!!

I was so blessed to have my mom, and Dr. Gilchrist take these following photographs, if you just found out you are expecting, Dr. Gilchrist was amazing, the whole Aventa staff is just great!

In the near future I plan to photograph more births.  I really enjoyed the experience of having mine photographed!  I wish I done this with the other two :)  Well, I attempted with my second child of me doing them myself haha!  Sometimes doing them yourself isn't the best idea when your the one in labor :)
